DEVELOPMENT OF A WATER QUALITY MONITORING AND SURVEILLANCE FRAMEWORK – LAGOS STATE
CHC YEAR 3 STRENGTHENING WATER AND SANITATION DELIVERY PROJECT
WATERAID NIGERIA invites qualified consultants to submit proposals for the development of a Water Quality Monitoring and Surveillance Framework for Lagos State, to be led by the Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission (LASWARCO).
Lagos State faces significant water quality challenges due to rapid urbanization, environmental pressures, and fragmented institutional roles. Although relevant agencies exist, the State currently lacks a comprehensive framework to guide coordinated monitoring and surveillance.
Scope of Assignment
The Consultant will:
- Conduct desk review and stakeholder consultations.
- Undertake field assessments and water quality sampling.
- Develop survey tools (household, KII, FGD).
- Develop a comprehensive Water Quality Monitoring and Surveillance Framework.
- Facilitate stakeholder validation and finalize the document.
Duration
The consultancy will be completed within 16 days from contract signing
.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Public Health, Water Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Microbiology or related field.
- 10–15 years relevant WASH and water quality experience.
- Proven experience in policy development, research, and stakeholder engagement.
